I’ve been reading the Boarding School Juliet manga for quite some time, once I finished watching the 12-episode anime version.
Romio Inuzuka and Juliet Persia are in love. It’s the type of love that ties these two lovebirds like fate. However, it’s a forbidden love as Romio and Persia belong in opposite sides of society. In their school (Dahlia Academy Boarding School), there are two rivaling countries. They are known as the “Black Dogs” and the “White Cats”. As the respective leaders of their dorms, you can expect a whole load of drama coming their way.
After I’ve watched the anime episodes, the manga really caught my attention, and my overall score for it is 10/10.
At the moment of writing, there are a little over 110 chapters you can read online.
The current arc is likely the final arc, but we’ll see at least a few more chapters as the plot is still going on.
Unlike the original “Romeo and Juliet” by Shakespeare, the “Boarding School Juliet” isn’t sad at all.
On the contrary, it is a romantic comedy that will most likely end well for all the characters.
I tried to avoid spoilers… But here’s a small one, that would be pretty obvious anyway.
At some point their relationship is revealed, but they find a way to get support from their friends and the school accepts them, due to their hard work for the school and its students.
So their next goal is changing the world around them, meaning to change their feuding countries and make the society accept their relationship, too.
The best shots from the Boarding School Juliet manga
Besides having a decent plot and a good bit of comedy nearly at every page, the manga also has a lot of stuff like short skirts.
I would read it even without these ecchi moments, but short skirts and swimsuits make everything better, don’t they?
Here’s a shot from a chapter, where Romio got an amnesia and thought that Hasuki must be his actual girlfriend:
And nothing better than swimsuits from the Sea arc:
By the way, do you know that manga is read from right to left, unlike Western comics? You should know by now.
There are also quite a few special chapters and omake, with their own bit of ecchi.
However, if you aren’t a fan of this type of content… You could just not to pay attention on it.
Some other examples
The manga has a very decent and unique style of drawing, and you can sometimes enjoy how beautiful it is, no matter if it’s characters, buildings or interiors.
Just a couple of “random” pages/pictures are below.
And not related to the previous one:
So, the manga was very enjoyable to me, which makes me to remind the score I gave it.
As I mentioned in the first part of the post, the manga was very pleasant, it gave me many smiles and laugh. The drawing style and art was very refreshing as well.
So in conclusion, I would give it 10 out of 10.
